In a report from Pew Research Center conducted by Kristen Purcell, Judy Buchanan, and Linda Friedrich, it is evident that writing in modern schools has been impacted due to technology. Through the Advanced Placement surveys and National Writing Project teachers, they’ve come to the conclusion that technology serves as an aid to students and their writing capabilities. Specifically, they talk about their ability to swiftly swap from informal to formal writing efficiently. If students are capable of sending large amounts of text messages every so often, studies show that they are more likely to write more on a daily basis. Although technology has negative impacts on society today, it is clear that technology positively impacts the way we write today.
